5Fantastic day trip with an excellent guide!
Highly recommend this day trip to Plovdiv and Koprivshtitsa! Marina was an outstanding guide, super friendly, organized, and deeply knowledgeable. She provided great context for everything we visited and answered all our questions with enthusiasm. Both destinations are a must-see in Bulgaria, and having Marina guide us made the experience even better. Don't hesitate to book this!
5An unforgettable journey through history and a wonderful atmosphere thanks to our guide Svetlozar Dimit!
This was simply a fantastic full-day trip that exceeded all our expectations! We had a very vibrant and friendly multinational group—travelers from the UK, sunny Cyprus, the USA, Vietnam, Ukraine, and other corners of the world. Bringing together such a diverse team and making the trip equally fascinating for everyone is a true art, and our tour guide Svetlozar Dimit handled it brilliantly. He instantly found an approach to everyone, created an easygoing, warm atmosphere, and truly charmed the whole group with Bulgaria. What stood out most was the depth of storytelling. Svetlozar presented the history in an incredibly engaging, clear, and well-structured manner: from mysterious antiquity, remarkable artifacts, and ancient monuments to the challenging, dramatic struggle of the Bulgarian people for independence. The information was a pleasure to listen to, without any dry academic tone—just vivid facts, captivating stories, and genuine passion for his country. The locations (Plovdiv and Koprivshtitsa) are stunning in their authenticity and beauty. The transportation, timing, and itinerary were completely seamless. A huge thank you to Traventuria and special gratitude to our guide Svetlozar Dimit for this memorable day! Highly recommended to anyone who values insightful travel, top-notch guiding, and a great atmosphere!
5Interesting.
All details and organising relating to the tour were perfect. Visited all major sights of the old town . Antonio was a great guide. The option to stay in the town or go to the village could be made at any time. A long day but worth it. An important caveat is that if you have any mobility issues, this will be extremely challenging.
4Plovdiv well worth visiting.
Martin was an excellent guide for the day. Very informative.Enjoyed Plovdiv very much and the Starisel Temple but not the Art Village. Would have preferred more time in Plovdiv instead.
5Amazing tour!
We had a wonderful day sight seeing and learning a lot from our knowledgeable, sweet and gentle tour guide, Todor. With his special way of telling historical stories in a humorous and engaging manner, we found the long trip pass by in a blink! Thank you Todor, we appreciate you and your work!
5Highly recommend
Very well organized tour with many stops allowing us to see many beautiful sites of Bulgaria. Our tour guide Slav, provided valuable historical and cultural information with great enthusiasm. The bus was clean and comfortable, with excellent driver. Thank you for the wonderful day.
Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, lies below Vitosha mountain, mixing Roman ruins, golden-domed churches, mineral springs and a busy café culture.
Sofia sits in a high basin at the foot of Mount Vitosha, and its centre layers Roman Serdica, Orthodox Bulgaria and the Ottoman and Soviet eras. The gold-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, completed in the early twentieth century, is the city's best-known building. Close by are the fourth-century rotunda of St George, the Banya Bashi Mosque and the remains of Roman streets that show through glass in the metro stations.
Top-ranked sights in Sofia: Rila Monastery, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Ivan Vazov National Theatre.
