Agia Thekla Monastery is nestled within the heart of Mosfiloti, a picturesque village in Larnaca’s district. The monastery is surrounded by a green-covered valley offering a serene setting. Similar to Stavrovouni Monastery, Agia Thekla is said to have been founded by Saint Helen during the 4th century. According to the story, Saint Helen prayed to God at exactly where the monastery is situated today. She prayed to God to help her and her escorts because they were really thirsty sue to their travels. After the praying, Holy water overflowed the earth. She then started building the monastery. Till this day, holy water flows through the same spring. The holy water is believed to cure skin diseases.

Ayia Napa, on the south-east tip of Cyprus, is a resort of pale sandy bays, a sea-cave coast and a medieval monastery in its old centre.
Ayia Napa lies on the south-east corner of Cyprus, in the Famagusta District, where a run of sandy bays meets the open Mediterranean. In the old centre, a monastery from the Venetian period stands in a quiet courtyard shaded by an ancient sycamore fig.
