• 5Great way to spend a day (or more) in São Tomé!

  For such a small island we discovered there is so much to see and experience in São Tomé. We booked Luis for two days in a row to experience to different areas (South and Central). Both days were great and a mix of local villages, markets, beaches, nature and a ton of information! Luis and Paulo, our guides were top notch and a lot of fun to hang out with! Five stars (more if I could give them)

• 5Excellent Full Day Tour - so much, we booked a second day!

  We used Luis Miguel for two different days while visiting Sao Tome. He offers different itineraries depending on the client requests and interests. We chose a Southern Route and a Central Route. We enjoyed both tours a lot. Day 1 was a Southern tour with Luis’ colleague Paulo. EXCELLENT. We saw a number of beautiful beaches and coastline, checked out a waterfall, walked through local villages and interacted with people along the wine. Paulo even let us try local palm wine and some interesting foods and fruits. We were fortunate to have the skies clear on a very cloudy day to get a great view of Pico de Cão Grande! The day had a great lunch (huge!) with fresh fish and a great selection of products. Day 2 was a trip into the interior of the country, including the Botanical Garden, Coffee Museum and more. Luis was our guide today and we had another AMAZING time! We learned a lot about Sao Tome’s history, local culture, education, politics and more. The explanations were detailed and information and very interesting. We skipped lunch today (our choice) to be back a bit earlier, but still had a full days experience. Both days picked us up at our hotel. The cars were in fine condition, the pace was relaxed and both Luis and Paolo were great to talk with (great English, too!. We would highly recommend this excursion while visiting – we even wanted to try the other itineraries but had no time!

• 4Worthwhile trip to Rolas Island

  This was a drive down from Sao Tome to Rolas Island. Luis Miguel was knowledgeable about the island and nature. We made a few stops on the way south and one on the way back to see views. Despite a couple of logistical problems and delays along the way - not Luis Miguel’s problem and he got them fixed - we made it over to the island and back for a nine hour trip. The equator mark is a must do “tick off the lisr” with great views back to the mainland and Coffee Beach was good for swimming.

• 5Excellent tour with a fantastic guide

  Luis Miguel did a great job showing us his city and all the highlights. He was pleasant and engaging. He shared the history of the area and the many important landmarks, etc. We were on a cruise ship and he knew we had a time crunch. We were able to see everything with time to spare. We highly recommend this tour.

• 5Exotic Beauty of Sao Tome

  Luis Miguel is amazing! I was travelling solo so he let me sit up front with him and my 6 new friends were able to stay together in the back part of the van. Luis is very customer oriented and will do whatever is required to make sure you have a wonderful time. He took us on a tour of the far side of the island while sharing his vast knowledge of the history, culture, and current status of Sao Tome. I highly recommend!

  Owner/operator packs in as many sights as possible while still ensuring that you won’t miss your boat. Fantastic tour and likely the best on offer in São Tomé for cruise passengers. Especially those interested in seeing the nations signature sight - Dog’s Tooth Peak!

About São Tomé Island

São Tomé is the larger of the two islands of São Tomé and Príncipe, an equatorial volcanic island of rainforest, old cocoa plantations and quiet beaches.

São Tomé lies just north of the equator in the Gulf of Guinea, off the coast of central Africa, a green volcanic island about 50 kilometres long that rises to the Pico de São Tomé, 2,024 metres high. Portuguese navigators found it uninhabited around 1470, and it grew rich on sugar and later on cocoa. The capital stands on the north-east coast, with the fort of São Sebastião, built in 1566, which houses the national museum, a cathedral and a lively market.
