Kandy to Ella train ride is known as one of the most scenic train journeys in the world. We facilitate our clients to book 1st class AC compartment or 2nd class non-AC reserved seats. The train starts its journey from Colombo Fort Railway station and Reaches Kandy by 0905 hrs. Usually it takes about 3 hours approximately to reach Kandy/Peradeniya Railway station where the scenic trip begins. The train would reach Ella by 1522 hrs. and the most scenic part of the train journey is from Hatton to Haputale. During the journey the train goes passing lush greenish tea estates, many tunnels, farming fields, villages, various types of forests etc

About Kandy

Kandy is the hill-country city of Sri Lanka, home to the Temple of the Tooth, a tree-fringed lake and a botanical garden among tea-covered hills.

Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhalese kings until the British took it in 1815. It stands around an artificial lake, about 500 metres above sea level, in the Central Highlands. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a UNESCO site, holds a relic said to be a tooth of the Buddha, and pilgrims bring lotus flowers each day. Drummers and dancers perform at the shrine's rituals.
