Teotihuacán was a cosmopolitan and multi-technical urban center that surpassed in size many European cities in its time, housing between 100,000 and 200,000 inhabitants at its peak. His influence spread throughout Mesoamerica from Tikal to the Gulf of Mexico through trade and possibly political control. The design of the city is a testament to advanced urban planning and astronomical knowledge.
