This seasonal whale watching tour takes you aboard a 24-passenger sailing catamaran from Hervey Bay to Platypus Bay at K'gari (Fraser Island). Limited guests allows for a truly intimate tour with one on one conversations to hear about these majestic animals. An immersive platform lets you observe a humpback whale underwater while you listen to the male humpback whale sing by hydrophone. Morning and afternoon tea are served along with a buffet lunch and beverage during the full-day tour.

5Ethical tour operators fantastic day
If you want a cruise with operators that so obviously care about what they do, and the conservation of the marine park, choose these guys. Great day on the water informative guides , smaller boat is a bonus all on its own. lunch was pretty good too.

Absolutely wonderful day day, the staff were fantastic, so informative and really looked after you, it was a shame we didn’t see a lot until the last hour, but boy the whales made up for it and we stayed extra time to enjoy them, thank you so much My only criticism was two Swiss teenagers that stood in the way every time there was a great photo opportunity and were annoying, but that was nothing to do with the trip, well worth the money 👍
5Whales galore!
What a phenomenal whale watching tour! The crew were very knowledgeable, morning and afternoon tea as well as lunch was supplied and delicious 🤤 but of course the highlight was the whales, we watched them play, jump and wave, they are magnificent animals. If you are visiting Hervey Bay I highly recommend Blue Dolphin tours for a spectacular experience. You will not be disappointed!
5Great Day and Wonderful Staff
It was a brilliant way to start our 3 month long service leave and 30th Wedding Anniversary tour of parts of Australia. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. We had an array of whale experiences throughout the entire day. As no one had to be back by a certain time, the captain took the opportunity to follow a pod of 6 whales that grew to 8 by the end of it. We were well feed throughout the entire day. Thank you very much for a wonderful start to our break.

About Hervey Bay
Hervey Bay is a relaxed seaside town on Queensland's Fraser Coast, with calm water, a long pier, visiting humpback whales and ferries to Fraser Island.
Hervey Bay is a string of beach suburbs, Pialba, Scarness, Torquay and Urangan, facing a wide, sheltered bay that Fraser Island shields from the open Pacific. A paved esplanade runs for kilometres along the shore, with parks, cafés and a cycle path, and at Urangan the long timber pier reaches far out over the shallows, an old cargo wharf now used by anglers and walkers.
