Good morning ! I am a real Basque, in this food tour you will have the joy to discover Biarritz and basque specialities : chocolate, wine, sheep cheese... Note that I just make you know the local delicacies, with some free tasting, but it is up to you to buy... Ok ? Few native basque offer tours. I will show you around Biarritz and the Basque Country, with its prehistoric, very particular culture. We start at the Port vieux for an overview of Biarritz. Then we walk to city center. I do story telling about the architecture. In the center we spend time visiting gastronomy shops according your taste. About Biarritz
Biarritz is a seaside resort on France's Basque coast, with surf beaches, Belle Époque villas and the Pyrenees inland.
Biarritz began as a fishing and whaling village and became fashionable when Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III, built a summer villa here in the 1850s, now a grand hotel above the Grande Plage. Rocks and small coves line the shore, and the Rocher de la Vierge, a rock topped by a statue and joined to the shore by a footbridge, is the town's symbol. Belle Époque villas, a lighthouse and a Russian Orthodox church complete the scene.
