Compact and Accessible: Unlike larger parks, Mosi-oa-Tunya is easy to explore in a few hours and is located just minutes from Livingstone town and the airport, making it ideal for short visits or day trips. Cultural and Historical Significance: The park area holds rich cultural value for the local people and contains archaeological sites and traditional villages, offering insight into Zambia’s heritage. About Livingstone
Livingstone is a Zambian town on the Zambezi River, a few kilometres from Victoria Falls, with a colonial centre, wildlife and river adventures.
Livingstone stands on the northern bank of the Zambezi, about ten kilometres from Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, the Smoke That Thunders. The town grew after the railway arrived in 1905 and was capital of Northern Rhodesia until 1935. It is named after David Livingstone, who in 1855 became the first European to see the falls, and the Livingstone Museum holds his letters and local history.
