1. You can have a look at the famous writer's old residence that has now become a famous landmark in Samoa.

2. This is an iconic building with unique architecture and immaculate gardens where we can have a toilet stop and take photos before taking a 10 minute drive to our next stop.

3. Witness the breathtaking views of Sopopoaga cliff and upon the magnificent waterfall. You'll also be able to participate in and treated with a demonstration of traditional Samoan cooking and how Samoans make delicious coconut cream. When then take a 15 minute drive to the next stop.

4. This has been advertised as the tallest waterfall on island at about 95 meters tall and featured in many Samoan tourism advertisements. We will then continue on for 40 minutes to the next stop.

5. We will stop at one of Samoa's best resorts and restaurants to order lunch or a cold drink. You can swim, snorkel and enjoy the beautiful white sands of the south coast - which was featured in the Lonely Planet travel magazine as one of the best beaches in the world. After lunch then it is a 90 minute drive back to Apia around the Northeastern Coastal Road.

6. Visit the most iconic landmark in Samoa and its beautiful gardens and majestic ocean views. The 30 meter deep hole in the ground formed naturally out of volcanic activity, with a pool of ocean water has become synonymous with Samoan tourism. There is a long ladder to access the pool for those who are willing to experience swimming in one of the world's wonders. It is then another 30 minute drive to the next stop for lunch.

7. This is an elevated point of about 600 meters above sea level and you will look down upon the Lalomauga village below as we make our drive back to Apia.

8. This will be our final stop and a great way to cool down in this natural fresh water pool which flows out from inside a cave. We will then continue on back to Apia for the next 35 minutes.

9. You will see the Samoan Parliament House and Court House as well as historic monuments.

10. You will see the biggest food market in Samoa where locals sell their wares as well as fresh produce then take a short drive to the Drive Through Market.

• 5This was my second time...

  This was my second time doing a tour with Chris, and he was great once again! I appreciated that he was flexible with us and allowed us to switch days to try to accommodate avoiding the rainy weather that was expected. He offers so much knowledge along but also allowed us enough time to explore on our own at each site. Would highly recommend to someone who wants to see the highlights of Upolu in one day, you cover so much it’s such a great value to see a lot of the island.

• 5Beautiful, meaningful experience!

  This was an unforgettable experience in Samoa on the islands of Sava’ii and Upolu. We planned a weeklong trip and wished we had more time to go back to some of these sites. The tour was thoughtful, with lots of storytelling to build a map of the beautiful islands and their histories. We started on Upolu and toured for two days; then Sava’ii for two full days. The experience with Chief Tai in particular is one you won’t want to miss. Ahéhee’!💗

• 5Samoa is amazing- the people and places

  We visited Samoa as part of a cruise stop and I really did not know much about the country. It was such a great experience to see how much beauty and warmth exist here. I would love to go back to visit for several days because I feel we just touched on so many beautiful places that deserve to be enjoyed fully- the waterfalls, the valleys, the cave pool, the botanical gardens, and especially the warmth of the people. Our guide Fred was wonderful, friendly, funny and loved sharing about Samoa. We really liked him and what the tour company gave us as an experience. We could not go to a resort to eat lunch, but they provided a tasty traditional lunch for only $10 and ate in a beautiful setting.It was because we had a very limited timeline due to the cruise time constraints. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Fred and Samoa!

About Upolu

Upolu is the main island of Samoa, a green volcanic island of waterfalls, a sea trench and white-sand beaches around the capital, Apia.

Upolu is the second-largest island of Samoa but home to most of its people, with the capital, Apia, on its north coast. A mountainous spine of forest runs along the island, falling to a coast of coral reefs, black-rock headlands and white-sand beaches. Robert Louis Stevenson spent his last years in a house on the slopes above Apia, now a museum, and is buried on the summit of Mount Vaea.
