PADI dive shops offer this program either in a pool, off a beach or from a dive boat. You can try scuba close to home or while you’re on vacation at a dive destination. While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. About Aqaba

Aqaba is Jordan's only seaport, a warm Red Sea resort town at the head of its gulf, backed by desert mountains and near Wadi Rum and Petra.

Aqaba sits at the head of the Gulf of Aqaba, at the north end of the Red Sea, with the mountains of Edom behind it and Israel, Egypt and Saudi Arabia on the other shores of the gulf. Jordan's only seaport, it has been a trading place since ancient times, and an early Islamic city, Ayla, has excavated remains on the seafront. The fort near the harbour dates from the Mamluk period, and Aqaba fell to the forces of the Arab Revolt in 1917.
