About Nashville
Nashville, Tennessee's capital, is Music City, a Southern city of honky-tonks, recording studios, the Grand Ole Opry and hot chicken.
Nashville stands on the Cumberland River in middle Tennessee and is the home of country music. The Ryman Auditorium, a brick hall built as a gospel tabernacle and nicknamed the Mother Church of Country Music, hosted the Grand Ole Opry radio show for decades, and the Opry now plays on the outskirts. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum tells the story of the genre, and honky-tonks on Lower Broadway have live bands.
