The Dingle Peninsula boasts amazing mountain scenery and unusual antiquities, which you will admire as you travel around this world- famous Peninsula. Stop and enjoy Inch beach, a site of incredible natural beauty and one of the most famous beaches in Ireland. Stop in Dingle town, on of the most picturesque fishing towns in Ireland, and is famed for the local dolphin, Fungi, who has been living in the town for 30 years.
We leave Limerick City behind and travel via the charming village of Adare down through the mountains to County Kerry.
Regularly voted the most beautiful town in Ireland, Killarney is the gateway to both Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula. Nestled in the valley beneath Ireland's highest mountain range, and surrounded by lakes Killarney boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland. Lined with lovely shops, pubs and traditional arts and crafts stores, this true gem is a must see for every traveler who visits our motherland.
Inch Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Ireland, and stretches for 3 miles facing the Atlantic ocean and is renowned as a surfing and fishing location. Its golden sands became well known on the big screen as it has featured in many movies, most notably Ryan's Daughter and Playboy of Western World which was entirely filmed along its shoreline.
Slea Head drive on the Wild Altanic Way is considered by many photographic magazines as the most beautiful peninsula in the world, and was recently voted the number one area for dramatic shots. The road winds around through Gaelic speaking Corca Dhuibhne beginning at Ventry beach passing by the 4000 year old beehive huts and onwards to Dunquin with amazing views of the great Blasket Island and the Sleeping Giant. The peninsula has fabulous beaches in Coonenoole and Clogherhead where the film Far and Away was shot. We drive through the beautiful village of Ballyferriter.
Next we stop in Dingle village. Charming Gaelic speaking fishing village famed in many films like Far and Away and Ryan's Daughter, Dingle is celebrated for having most pubs in Ireland for a town of its size, 52 pubs and 2000 people. We cannot forget Dingle's most famous resident, Fungi the Dolphin.
Following a fun-filled day on the Dingle Penninsula, we make our way back over the mountains to Limerick, where we aim to arrive back at approx 7 pm.

3A long bus ride
This is basically a long bus ride. Unfortunately the day we went the weather was horrible. When we got to certain stops the rain and the wind were so bad that it seemed we jumped into swimming pool and I had a raincoat, hood and waterproof shoes. I was prepared. So my experience might be jaded from this. We were to meet guild/bus driver 15minutes early. He showed up a few minutes late. The next clinch was we had to decide if we wanted to take an optional tour($$) before we reach Killarney. This tour was offered because the company got complains from customers about being dropped off at the bus terminal. I think they should extend the time in Killarney to 2 hours and drop everyone where they drop us for the optional tour. The next complaint is due to the weather and inflexibility of the tour. When we got to Inch Beach the rain and wind were bad. The tour continued and it was impossible to see the cliffs and ocean. Then we got to another spot ($$) with beehive house and baby lambs. It also was a bathroom stop. This was when the skies opened up. Now I know this is not the tour’s fault but my complaint is that although on the way back after visiting Dingle for a late lunch(2 pm) the guide could have taken a few minutes to pull over and allow for photo op to a few place. After lunch the sun came out and the monsoon stopped. The ride back showed the beauty of Ireland. Would have been nice to get a picture or two. Like I said in the beginning it was a long bus ride with few stops to begin with and made longer by the fact that we didn’t get to enjoy the views
5Beautiful views and great trip
Great experience with a knowledgeable, funny guide
5This was a great...
This was a great experience. We took the horse drawn carriage ride in Killarney. Our gude was marvelous and the scenery was beautiful. Inch Beach was great watching the surfers and swimmers. Our driver Michael was great and provided us with lots of photo opportunities. Dingle was a lively village and the fish and chips at Harrington's was good.

Michael was a thoughtful driver, often asking if everyone was comfortable. Horse and carriage ride in Kilarney was a nice surprise. Great sights on the peninsula with a stop to hold a lamb. Long day but good time.

Bring snacks because lunch was much later than we expected because of a delay. There were snacks along the way, but it was mostly sweet so maybe pack a protein bar or something
5Best Fish & Chips ever in Dingle!
Lots of driving/time on the bus from our pick up spot in Limerick, but worth it. We took the horse & buggy ride through Killarney National Park- lots of trees…it was okay. Then back on the bus to head to The Wild Atlantic Way. We went to Inch Beach- very misty and foggy day, so not much to see thanks to Mother Nature 😋. Then traveled along down the coast to the Dingle Peninsula. It was misty but visibility had improved a bit- very pretty area. We had lunch in the quaint town of Dingle (best Fish and Chips at Harrington’s!!!). We shopped and walked a bit in Dingle before heading back. Fun day!
Limerick is a Shannon-side city in the west of Ireland, with a Norman castle on King's Island, Georgian streets and a strong rugby and literary tradition.
Limerick sits where the River Shannon widens towards its estuary, and its oldest quarter lies on King's Island. King John's Castle, a thirteenth-century Norman fortress with round towers, dominates the riverbank, and St Mary's Cathedral stands near it, begun in the twelfth century. The Treaty Stone, on a plinth near Thomond Bridge, marks the 1691 treaty that ended the Williamite war in Ireland.
Top-ranked sights in Limerick: Bishop's Palace, Treaty Stone.
