Upon arrival, explore the magnificent Temple of Seti I, built by King Seti I and completed by his son Ramses II in honor of Osiris, the god of the afterlife and resurrection. Admire the temple’s exceptionally preserved reliefs and intricate carvings, including the famous Abydos King List, which records the names of Egypt’s pharaohs from the First Dynasty through the Nineteenth Dynasty. Discover the temple’s seven sacred chapels dedicated to Horus, Isis, Osiris, Amun-Ra, Ptah, Seti I, and Re-Horakhty. Continue to the mysterious Osireion, located behind the temple and believed to symbolize the legendary tomb of Osiris.
