Højdepunkter

Just three miles from the birth place of founder John Dewar, the Aberfeldy Distillery is the only distillery built by the Dewar family. Your experience includes a distillery tour and access to the atmospheric warehouse where you can hear about the angels’ share and how the whisky is double aged for a richer smoother flavour. Also included is the heritage centre offering a unique insight into founders; John Dewar and his sons Tommy and John Alexander.  You will end the tour in one of our tasting rooms to enjoy a comparative tasting of our Dewar's Blended Scotch and our Aberfeldy Single Malt. Enjoy a dram (over 18s only) in the whisky lounge with comfy sofas and warming fire as well as free wifi.

Rute

  1. Your visit will start with a short film in the auditorium, followed by a chance to explore the heritage centre and discover more about the remarkable history of John Dewar & Sons. This part of your visit is self guided with the aid of audio guides/ipads, available in various languages. Your experienced tour guide will then take you on a tour of the Aberfeldy Distillery and warehouse so you can learn more about the whisky making magic! The tour ends with a wee dram in the whisky lounge for adults / seniors. Drivers can request a take-away pack to create a Maime Taylor cocktail at home. Your ticket does not include transport to/from the distillery. The distillery is located on the outskirts of picturesque Aberfeldy, nestled on the banks of the River Tay, 20 mins from the A9 in Highland Perthshire, 90 minutes from Edinburgh. Free parking.  Additional tastings and whisky cocktails are available at the bar. You can browse the shop showcasing the full Dewar's portfolio along with exclusive limited edition single cask bottlings and fill your own bottle with a specially selected cask of Aberfeldy Single Malt. Tours take place throughout the day, present your voucher on arrival. Please note, last tour is 1 hour prior to closing, however we recommend allowing 1.5 hours for your visit. There is a cafe onsite, however your ticket does not include food - booking is not essential for the cafe. As a traditional working distillery, visitors must wear sensible footwear on the distillery tour (no high heels or open toed shoes permitted). Unfortunately dogs (except assistance dogs) are not permitted in the visitor centre or distillery.  The visitor centre and heritage centre is fully accessible, however due to the historical nature of the distillery building, the tour can be adapted for less mobile visitors. A full accessibility statement is available.

About Aberfeldy

Aberfeldy is a small town on the River Tay in Highland Perthshire, with a stone bridge by General Wade, a wooded glen and a nearby loch.

Aberfeldy stands on the south bank of the River Tay in Highland Perthshire, a small market town with grey stone houses and a pleasant main street. Wade's Bridge, a handsome stone bridge over the Tay, was built in 1733 as part of General Wade's military road network. A monument nearby recalls the Black Watch regiment, first mustered in this area in 1740.
