After a 30 min drive from Livingstone through a part of the Zambezi National Park, we will reach our village. We will walk together through our beautiful Simoonga village and we will explain the history of this place, the present situation and our vision. You meet a lot of friendly locals, learn about our tradition and the way we live. Me and my partners started to build the Simoonga Thandizani Trust School at 2015 and it is growing till today. We will then visit our school and you will have a chance to teach our children if you want to. But surely, you will fall in love on these cute kids and they have lots love for you. Rute

  1. After a 30min ride from Livingstone you will reach our beautiful village Simoonga. Have a nice tour through our village. There you'll learn a lot of interesting things about the local people. (their Buildings, Traditions and Food). This is an opportunity to interact with the affable local people and be indulged in the village way of life, culture and tradition. We have the elderly people who are the custodian of the village history that has transcended for generations. Be part of story telling time and carry the lasting memories home. We have our own school, where you get a look inside and maybe can try to help teaching. Engage the vulnerable community school children , exchange cultural stories and leave a mark of transformation. Before we heading back to Livingstone, we are going to cook and eat all together Nshima, a traditional food.

About Livingstone

Livingstone is a Zambian town on the Zambezi River, a few kilometres from Victoria Falls, with a colonial centre, wildlife and river adventures.

Livingstone stands on the northern bank of the Zambezi, about ten kilometres from Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, the Smoke That Thunders. The town grew after the railway arrived in 1905 and was capital of Northern Rhodesia until 1935. It is named after David Livingstone, who in 1855 became the first European to see the falls, and the Livingstone Museum holds his letters and local history.

Top-ranked sights in Livingstone: Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, Devil's Pool, Livingstone Museum.
