1. We will visit Gandan Monastery, the spiritual heart of Mongolia and the country’s most important active Buddhist center. We will walk through a peaceful complex filled with ornate temples, prayer halls, and traditional Tibetan-style architecture, where monks still practice daily rituals. We will hear the soft sounds of chanting, bells, and prayer wheels, creating a calm and reflective atmosphere in the middle of the city. A highlight of the visit is the magnificent 26.5-meter Migjid Janraisig Statue, a towering gilded image of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. We will explore multiple floors of beautifully designed exhibitions that bring Mongolian history to life. We will see rare artifacts, detailed replicas, ancient weapons, traditional clothing, and royal symbols connected to Chinggis Khaan, his ancestors, and the Great Mongol Empire. Interactive displays, digital maps, and visual storytelling help you understand how a nomadic leader united tribes and created one of the largest empires in world history.

3. Enjoy a walk around Sukhbaatar Square while discovering the history behind the square, the Government Palace, and the iconic buildings that surround it.

4. After lunch, we will head to Zaisan Hill. Zaisan Memorial (Zaisan Monument), one of Ulaanbaatar’s most iconic viewpoints, offering both historical insight and breathtaking panoramic views. We will walk up a series of steps leading to the monument, enjoying views that gradually open over the city. At the top, they will see the large Soviet–Mongolian memorial, featuring a striking circular mural that depicts scenes of friendship, cooperation, and key moments from Mongolian and Soviet history. From the summit, guests can enjoy 360-degree panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar, including the city skyline, surrounding mountains, the Tuul River, and nearby neighborhoods. It’s one of the best photo spots in the city, especially on clear days.

5. Cultural show is one of the most captivating ways to experience Mongolia’s rich nomadic heritage through music, dance, and performance. Guests will watch a professionally staged live show featuring traditional Mongolian music, throat singing (khoomei), folk dances, and contortion performances. Skilled artists perform using traditional instruments such as the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle), creating powerful and emotional melodies that reflect the spirit of the steppe.

About Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital on the Tuul River, is a high, cold city of Buddhist monasteries, Soviet squares and nomadic traditions.

Ulaanbaatar lies at around 1,350 metres in a valley below Bogd Khan mountain, and is among the coldest capitals in the world. It grew from a movable monastery town, and Gandan Monastery, still a working Buddhist centre, holds a tall gilded statue of Avalokiteshvara. Sükhbaatar Square, the central plaza, is dominated by the Government Palace with a large seated statue of Chinggis Khan.
