Prepare your intellectual spirit and adventurous soul. Discover the captivating historical and natural gems of Sintra and Cascais on this private full-day tour from Lisbon. Explore at your own pace with a flexible itinerary and local guide. You'll visit Pena Palace, Sintra Old Town, Cabo da Roca and Cascais' beautifully rugged coastline and charming city. Throughout the day, we'll visit some must-see tourist sites, while also sneaking in local, off-the-beaten-path gems. This tour can be customised to suit your personal preferences.
You will start your day with a visit to the charmingly colourful Pena Palace and Park, considered today one of the world's major expressions of 19th-century romanticism. We'll then guide you through the amazing terraces, architecture and history of Pena Palace. For us, the most beautiful is the outdoors, but you will have free time to visit the interior of the palace if you wish.
Around lunchtime, we will stop at the Sintra Historical Centre, close to the medieval Sintra Royal Town Palace. Here you'll find the famous local pastry - Travesseiros. You can't skip it! You’ll have free time to explore and eat a quick snack or lunch.
We'll then make our way to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, driving by Sintra / Cascais Nature Park. You'll have free time to explore and admire the stunning views over the Atlantic.
We'll drive along the "Lisbon Riviera" and stop at the charming Guincho Beach, a paradise for surfers and windsurfers.
The "cherry on top" is the drive along the "Lisbon Riviera," stopping at Cascais Fortress, from which you'll have a panoramic view of the famous Cascais Bay.

Lisbon spills down its hills to the Tagus estuary, a city of tiled façades, rattling yellow trams, viewpoint terraces and late, unhurried dinners.
The old quarters hold most of the charm. Alfama's tangle of lanes climbs to São Jorge Castle and echoes with fado in the evening, the Baixa's orderly grid runs down to the vast Praça do Comércio on the river, and Bairro Alto and Chiado mix bookshops and cafés by day with bars by night. Viewpoints such as Santa Luzia and Senhora do Monte frame red rooftops and shining water.
Top-ranked sights in Lisbon: Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio), Pena National Palace (Palacio Nacional da Pena), Alfama.
