Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van In this tour, we will take you to see ethnic villages as Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai & Ta Van Village, a beautiful local minority village-based approximately 13 km outside of Sapa. We start trekking in Sapa, and the first part of this hike, we will be walking downhill. From the main road, a small path will lead us into the Muong Hoa valley. The trail leads through an astonishing landscape. The stunning views, with mountains and steep rising rice paddies as far as the eye can see, are only interrupted by rivers, local houses, or farmers working their fields.

  2. In Y Linh Ho, a charming little town inhabited by the Hmong minority, we will cross the bridge. From here, the road goes up and down. We will walk over the edges of the rice fields in the shadow of the mighty Fansipan-mountain, which is right behind us. We will cross some hills before we enter the village of Lao Chai.

  4. Ta Van is a town located in the Muong Hoa valley and home to a group of ethnic minorities. There are around a 1000 residents of mainly HMong , Dao and Giay. In the town you will find traditional stilt houses and simple wooden houses. Besides some of the families that run tourism related activities or a homestay, the life of the village is still normal and authentic. Most of them work on the fields, but they also produce instruments and engraved silver.

About Sapa

Sapa is a cool mountain town in northern Vietnam, set among rice terraces and ethnic-minority villages beneath Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina.

Sapa sits at about 1,500 metres in the Hoàng Liên Sơn range near the Chinese border. It began as a French hill station in the early twentieth century and still has a stone church at its centre. Fansipan, at 3,143 metres the highest mountain in Indochina, rises behind the town, and a cable car now carries visitors most of the way up.
