خط السير
After picking you up around 13:30, the journey to the desert takes us through the Dhofar mountains, home to diverse flora and fauna. We'll stop to take photos along the way.
We pass by the town of Thumrait, which historically served as a crucial point along the Arabian caravan routes. We drive for approximately 30 minutes until we reach our first stop, a camel farm to learn about the significance of camels to the Omani people and discover the different types, including the unique black camels found in Oman. We spend about 30 minutes here
Then we drive around 20 minutes to Wadi Dawka, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wadi Dawka is a protected area for frankincense trees, where we experience the most iconic trees in Sultanate of Oman. Wadi Dawka is specifically a habitat for the Boswellia Sacra type of frankincense tree, known for producing the highest quality of frankincense resin. Here we stop for about 30 minutes
After that, we drive for about 20 minutes to reach the Lost City of Ubar, the Lost City of Ubar (Wubar), also known as the Atlantis of the Sands. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is located in Al Shisr. Ubar (Wubar) was significant in ancient times along the Arabian trade caravan routes. Here we stop for 40 minutes
After that, we drive for another 30 minutes until we reach the the Empty Quarter Desert, also known as Al Rub’ Al Khali, where we experience one of the largest sand deserts in the world. We relish its magical, fine golden sand dunes. One of the most unforgettable experiences is the sand bashing on these golden dunes. • One of the experiences we can’t miss in Oman, is enjoying the breathtaking sunset in the Empty Quarter. On one of the tallest dunes, we arrange our setup to witness the sunset, to savor one of life’s most unforgettable experiences. Here we have a 2-hour stop
