Visit the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and marvel at its majestic dimensions. Visit the remains of the Roman Babylon Fortress, and the Coptic Christian Hanging Church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Discover the Jewish Ben Ezra Synagogue, which was once a church, and explore the Greek Orthodox Church of St George.
Finally, drive out to the Mokattam suburb to visit the extraordinary El Mokattam Mountain Cave Church, carved out of solid rock by Christian garbage collectors who pick trash near here. You'll return to your hotel
Stand before the legendary Great Sphinx of Giza, the world’s largest monolithic statue and one of Egypt’s most iconic landmarks. Carved from a single block of limestone over 4,500 years ago, the Sphinx is believed to represent King Khafre and has guarded the Giza Plateau for millennia.

Cairo is Egypt's sprawling capital on the Nile, where the Pyramids of Giza meet medieval mosques, busy bazaars and the treasures of the pharaohs.
On the western edge of the city, the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx rise from the desert plateau, with the step pyramid of Saqqara and the ruins of Memphis further south. Cairo's great museums, the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square and the vast Grand Egyptian Museum beside the plateau, hold artefacts spanning thousands of years.
Top-ranked sights in Cairo: Egyptian Museum (Museum of Egyptian Antiquities), Saqqara (Sakkara), Khan El-Khalili.
