On this day excursion from Delhi, visit Vrindavan and Mathura, the land of the Hindu God Krishna. Mathura is considered to be the birthplace of Krishna while he is said to have spent his childhood in the neighbouring town of Vrindavan. Mathura is one of the seven most holy places for Hindus in India. Vrindavan is the site where Krishna played and danced with the maidens of the town. Cover both these holy towns on the same day. Highlights • Bankey Bihari and Prem Mandir Temples in Vrindavan • Birthplace of God Krishna in Mathura • 6 feet idols of Krishna and Radha in the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple
You will be picked up from your hotel in Delhi for the two and half hour drive to Vrindavan that is situated around 100 miles from Delhi. Your local guide will meet you in Vrindavan and show you around the town where Krishna spent his childhood. There are over 5 000 temples in Vrindavan. On this tour visit the two most famous temples - the Bankey Bihari Temple and Prem Mandir Temple. The beautiful idols of Krishna and his divine love Radha along with other maidens are a sight to behold. The Bankey Bihari temple is unlike other Hindu temples as it does not have any bells. It is believed that bells disturb the sleep of Krishna, who is worshipped here in his child incarnation.
After the temple visits, drive on to the nearby town of Mathura. Visit the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple that is constructed on the site where Krishna is believed to have been born. Within the temple complex is a water pond where the child Krishna was bathed for the first time after his birth. Spend some time visiting the six shrines of the temple. The main shrine has beautiful 6 feet high idols of Krishna and Radha. After the tour of the temples, you will be driven back to Delhi and dropped off at your hotel.

New Delhi pairs the stately avenues of India's capital with the bazaars and Mughal monuments of Old Delhi, a city of layered empires and great food.
The planned capital centres on a grand ceremonial avenue running from India Gate to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the presidential palace. Nearby, Humayun's Tomb, a forerunner of the Taj Mahal, sits in formal gardens, and the Qutub Minar, a towering sandstone minaret, rises in the south. The Lotus Temple and the vast Akshardham complex add striking modern landmarks.
Top-ranked sights in New Delhi: India Gate, Jama Masjid (Masjid e Jahan Numa), Chandni Chowk.
