About Patna
Patna, the capital of Bihar, stands on the south bank of the Ganges, on the site of ancient Pataliputra, a capital of the Mauryan empire.
Patna stretches for kilometres along the Ganges and was once Pataliputra, the capital of the Magadha and Maurya empires.
