This full-day tour covers Nagoya's historic and industrial highlights with an English-speaking guide, meeting at JR Nagoya Station. Begin at Nagoya Castle, where the golden Kinshachi and gold-leaf interiors of Hommaru Palace are highlights, then continue to Tokugawa Garden with its waterfalls and lake. Visit Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology to see live demonstrations tracing the company's evolution from textiles to cars. With a private vehicle, the day also reaches SCMAGLEV and Railway Park, 15km further out, to see Shinkansen trains and the Maglev. Given the distance, the public-transport version stays closer to the center, moving on to Osu Shotengai shopping arcade, home to Osu Kannon Temple and local specialties like miso katsu, finishing in Sakae near Mirai Tower. The itinerary can be adjusted within the allotted time.
Step back into the Edo period at one of Japan's most important castles. Marvel at the Kinshachi (Golden Dolphins) and the exquisite gold-leaf paintings inside the newly restored Hommaru Palace.
Experience the serenity of a classic Japanese landscape garden. This former residence of the Lords of Owari Tokugawa features dramatic waterfalls, bridges, and a peaceful lake.
Housed in the original red-brick factory, this museum tells the inspiring story of how a textile machinery company evolved into a global automobile giant through live demonstrations.
Explore the evolution of high-speed rail. Get up close with record-breaking Shinkansen trains and catch a glimpse of the future with the Maglev (Superconducting Magnetically Levitated Vehicle).
Wander through Nagoya’s most vibrant arcade. From the historic Osu Kannon Temple to quirky street food and retro electronics, it’s a colorful mix of the old and new.
Experience the modern pulse of Nagoya. Stroll through the bustling downtown area, perfect for catching a glimpse of the iconic Mirai Tower or doing some last-minute souvenir shopping.

Nagoya is a big industrial city in central Japan, with a castle topped by golden ornaments, an ancient shrine and a food culture all its own.
Nagoya is one of Japan's biggest cities, set on a broad plain at the head of Ise Bay and long a centre of the country's car and machinery industries. Its castle, built by the Tokugawa in the early 1600s, is topped by a pair of golden shachihoko, mythical fish with tigers' heads, and the keep was rebuilt after the war with a restored palace beside it. Atsuta Shrine, among the most venerated in Japan, houses a sacred sword.
