Get to know Muscat at night on a private 4-hour evening tour and enjoy the wonderful weather and atmosphere, with a knowledgeable local driver-guide. Sightseeing by foot and air-conditioned vehicle, hear about the Omani capital’s history as you absorb the twinkling buildings, waterfronts and souks set against the dusky mountains. See the illuminated domes of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, witness the beautiful views along Muttrah Corniche, browse Muttrah Souk and view Al Alam Palace before having dinner at a local restaurant.
The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is one of the only mosques in Oman that allows non-Muslim visitors. However, be aware of the rules when entering and exploring the area. The Mosque is embellished in beautiful, colorful mosaic patterns. There is no official number stating how many stones have been used, but it is sure an astounding sight. Take your time to walk the halls and study the handcrafted details of the mosque. It is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of art. But unfortunately, we will not be able to enter the mosque and watch it from inside since visiting hours are 8AM -11AM.
Souq Muttrah is an intriguing market maze where one can find an eclectic range of products: from rare, one-of-a-kind vintage artifacts to high-quality frankincense, gold and precious jewels to funky, hand-made purses. Afghan war hats, compasses from World War 2 and pashminas… you can enjoy quite a treasure hunt. If you collect furniture you are bound to find something, or if you’d rather a cool new hand-made bag or t-shirt, these can also be had.
Al Alam Palace is the ceremonial palace of His Majesty the Sultan. The palace is located in the heart of the Old Muscat, it is surrounded by the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts.

Muscat, Oman's capital, stretches between rugged mountains and the Gulf of Oman, with a grand mosque, old forts, souks and a graceful corniche.
The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is the city's showpiece, with a vast prayer hall, an enormous hand-woven carpet and a crystal chandelier, set among marble courtyards. In old Muscat, the colourful Al Alam Palace is flanked by the Portuguese-era forts of Jalali and Mirani, perched on rocks above the harbour.
