This excursion will allow you to explorer the natural beauty of the landscapes and the culture of the local people. During this leisure canoeing trip on this beautiful lagoon, canoeists can marvel at ever-changing landscapes and fascinating variety of flora and fauna. Canoeing is the perfect way for you to appreciate the prolific wildlife including beautiful birds and breathtaking views of the surrounding mangrove forest as you paddle. Total paddling time is approximately 2 hours.

08.00 AM - You will be greeted and picked up by our TUK TUK driver and driven you to the starting point. 08.30 AM - On arrival at the starting point, our guide will give you a brief introduction and safety requirements about the tour. Thereafter, you will be taken by a TUK TUK to the floating dock on the lagoon nearby. Then hop on your canoe (seats 2 or 3 people max) and our guide will lead you around the lagoon exploring the hidden area and pointing out the views of surrounding mangrove forest. There are many varieties of flora and fauna that are interdependent in this coastal ecosystem. Refreshments will be provided during the canoe trip. 10.30 AM - After memorable canoeing, you will be taken back to your hotel in Galle. 11.00 AM - You will be dropped off to your hotel.

About Galle
Galle is a southern Sri Lankan port city whose Dutch-era fort, with ramparts above the sea, shelters cafés, churches and old merchant houses.
Galle Fort was started by the Portuguese in the late sixteenth century and extensively built by the Dutch in the seventeenth, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inside its thick sea walls, people still live and work among Dutch-style houses, mosques, churches and small galleries. A circuit of the ramparts at sunset, passing the lighthouse and the clock tower, is the favourite local walk.
