  Big thanks to Saya!! We had a personal day tour through Kanazawa with her as our guide and had a wonderful time. • 5Amazing day with sachiko

  Sachiko was amazing. She is friendly, knowledgeable, fluent in English and just a lovely person to spend the day with. Our visit with Ohi (toshio Ohi chizaemon) was the best 90 minutes of our vacation. The geisha and the Kimono tours also well worth it. Learned a lot today. Thank you Sachiko.

• 5Fun and Informative Full Day Tour

  My wife and I had a full day tour with Yoshiko Oigawa as our private guide. Yoshiko was friendly and knowledgeable. She took us to two incredible local talents who explained their art (through Yoshiko’s interpretation). We were fascinated and learned a lot about lacquer ware and silk painting. We gained an understanding and appreciation of these artists’ work. Yoshiko also found us a great place for lunch as well as a couple of places to shop for locally made high quality crafts. We had wonderful time.

  A wonderful tour with our great guide Sachiko. She showed us around Kanazawa where she’s has been living her whole life and told us all about her wonderful city. We had such a good time!

About Kanazawa

Kanazawa is a castle city on Japan's Sea of Japan coast, with the celebrated Kenrokuen garden, geisha and samurai districts, gold leaf and fresh seafood.

Kanazawa was the seat of the Maeda clan, who ruled the rich Kaga domain through the Edo period, and it escaped the bombing of the Second World War, so its old streets survive. Kenrokuen, one of Japan's three great landscape gardens, spreads over a hill beside the castle, with ponds, stone lanterns and pines that are held up by ropes against the winter snow. The turrets and gates of Kanazawa Castle have been rebuilt.
