  1. We always try to visit the best ice cave available at the given time, but the choice may vary throughout the winter. At the moment the most beautiful cave is called Sparkle Ice Cave, but sometimes the old name Crystal Ice Cave is also used. They are currently, as of November 2024, the same thing. However as we operate in really fast changing environment, there might come conditions when entering this particular ice cave will be too hazardous. We will then try to offer you an alternative, which might require some hiking on the glacier. You can be sure that you will receive from us relevant and up-to-date information if the conditions change.

  2. Your guide will be waiting for you at the main carpark of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 15 minutes before the start of the tpur. From there you set off for a 45-min ride towards the glacier.

Skaftafell is a green pocket of Vatnajökull National Park in south-east Iceland, with glacier tongues, the Svartifoss waterfall and walking trails.

Skaftafell is a green oasis in south-east Iceland, set between black sand plains and the white ice of Vatnajökull, Europe's largest ice cap by volume. It forms part of Vatnajökull National Park, and from the visitor centre trails lead through birch scrub and heather to glacier tongues and waterfalls. The Skaftafellsjökull, an outlet glacier, is in view from several paths, and the huge outwash plain of Skeiðarársandur stretches to the coast.
