  • READ CAREFULLY: Because of the growing popularity of the current pope Francis and his intense activity in organising mass events in the Vatican some areas might get closed last minute without previous notice. This has already happened this year and can happen again during you Vatican tour. In case of such events our tour guide will provide you with a valuable alternative focusing the tour inside the Vatican museums.

About Lake Bracciano

Lake Bracciano is a round volcanic crater lake north-west of Rome, with clear water for swimming and sailing and medieval towns on its shores.

Lake Bracciano fills an ancient volcanic crater about thirty kilometres north-west of Rome, a rounded lake with low wooded hills around it. It has long been a drinking-water reserve for Rome, so motor boats are banned and the water stays unusually clear. Small beaches line parts of the shore, and sailing, swimming and windsurfing are favourite pastimes in summer.

Top-ranked sights in Lake Bracciano: Odescalchi Castle (Castello Odescalchi).
