It highlights early Hopper works and the opportunity for visitors to experience the surrounding environment that inspired him and his choices of light, color, and subject matter that imbues his later work. Truly a unique experience! The house (built in 1858, with an 1882 addition) is registered on the National Register of Historic Places and the museum is a member of the Historic Artists Homes & Studios, a prestigious alliance run by the National Trust of Historic Preservation.
