  2. Derinkuyu Underground City, one of Cappadocia’s most remarkable cultural sites, offers a glimpse into ancient life. Carved from soft tuff rock, it descends 85 meters and includes stables, dining halls, churches, and a missionary school. A 55-meter-deep ventilation shaft served as a water well, ensuring fresh air and water. The upper floors housed communal kitchens and wine production areas, while the first floors were used as stables. Open to visitors since 1965, only 10% of this vast network is accessible, showcasing the ingenuity of its builders.
