  1. One of the most interesting civilization that called this region home - were the Hittites. They ruled the lands some 4000 years ago and we can still see several examples in Cappadocia, however, to really immerse yourself in the spectacular ruins from the Hittites, one must travel north to Hattusa. This 1-day tour departs and returns to Cappadocia and features both the ancient city and the spectacular archaeology museum. Your English-speaking professionally-licensed guide and driver will meet you at your area hotel to make the drive to the heart of the ancient Hittite civilization.

About Goreme

Göreme sits in the heart of Cappadocia, a surreal landscape of fairy chimneys, cave churches and dawn skies filled with hot-air balloons.

Göreme's houses and hotels are carved into soft volcanic rock, and the town is ringed by valleys of cone-shaped fairy chimneys shaped by erosion. The Göreme Open-Air Museum gathers rock-cut monasteries and churches whose frescoes, painted by Byzantine monks, still glow with colour, especially in the Dark Church.

Top-ranked sights in Goreme: Pigeon Valley (Güvercinlik Vadisi), Devrent Valley (Devrent Vadisi), Monks Valley (Pasabag Vadisi).
