1. On this tour we escort you to the site by public transport. Our fully trained guide will take you round all areas of the memorial site, giving you an insight into the suffering of the prisoners and relating the story of the concentration camp system to historical developments during the time of the National Socialist regime. We guide you round the cells, barracks and gas chamber and explain the meaning behind the pictures and exhibits in the museum with thought-provoking accounts of prisoners’ own experiences, from the setting up of the camp until their liberation by US-forces in 1945. There is a 22 minute documentary film in English, although we stress that this is deemed unsuitable for children underv 13 years old

• 5An absolute must do if you are into history

  Our tour guide Alex was phenomenal. He not only had a wealth of knowledge but also welcomed questions and an interactive tour making everyone feel comfortable. There is quite a bit of standing and walking but well worth the experience. Be ready to have a somber, emotional experience and learn about the history of Dachau, its origin and its final collapse at the end of WWII.

  We had Carlotta run this tour. She was a thoughtful guide - knew how to read the group and had just enough wit to keep the tour as light as possible visiting such a place. She really was one of the best guides we’ve had! Bravo Carlotta!

  A worthwhile experience if you are visiting Munich. Meeting downtown and having our guide lead us through the train & bus process to get there made it super easy and affordable. Our guide, Charlotte, was wonderful—extremely knowledgeable and presented info clearly and thoughtfully.

  Was easy to find our very knowledgeable guide. Have taken the tour before without a guide and it was very worth in to do to tour with a guide. You want to make sure the guide will go in with you, as some companies leave out that detail. This company did not.

About Munich
