Phivos Ioannides, who would be guiding the trip and the walk, is a world traveller with extensive studies, wide business and other experiences. He is involved for many years in the sector of authentic ecotourism in Cyprus and is the author of a relevant guide book (with the title 'Exploring Authentic Cyprus'). He is a Greek Cypriot and specialises on guided walking trips. Akamas is a jewel of Cyprus nature. The standard part of this walk is one of the very best in Cyprus, not to be missed.
This customisable walk takes place in the north part of Akamas, a pristine, almost untouched area of Cyprus. In the route versions that I recommend, we ascend to the peak known as "Moutti tis Sotiras" from where one can enjoy unobstructed views of the north coast from Cape Arnaouti, the tip of Akamas, towards Chrysochou Bay and the north-west all the way to Pomos in the north-east. After a pause for a picnic and to enjoy the majestic views we usually walk to the Baths of Aphrodite on the Aphrodite trail (initially a steep descent, with the last stretch on a coastal dirt road, near the cliff). We walk between 7 and 13 km, depending on travellers preference and profile, and conditions and time availability. As this is a private trip, we can customise it. Adding a swim or snorkelling can be a lovely addition, especially during the warmer season.
This is the mythical pool where Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty used to take her bath. Small but mythical.
A peak just higher than 350 meters, close to the coast, offering breathtaking panoramic vistas. Unforgettable.

Paphos is a harbour town on Cyprus's south-west coast, with Roman mosaics, ancient tombs, a seafront fort and the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite nearby.
Paphos is split between the harbourside Kato Paphos, where most of the ancient sites lie, and the hillside town of Ktima above it. Kato Paphos is a World Heritage site, with the floor mosaics of Roman villas such as the House of Dionysos, the ruins of an odeon and a small fort at the harbour mouth. Nearby, the Tombs of the Kings are rock-cut burial chambers dating from the 4th century BC.
Top-ranked sights in Paphos: Rock of Aphrodite (Petra tou Romiou), Super Aphrodite Waterpark, Adonis Baths.
