1. Pick up at your accommodation in Cape Town and set off on a drive-by city tour to see the historical monuments and buildings in the city centre.

2. Then we will stop in the Bo-Kaap (Cape Malay Quarter) for a photo opportunity with the colourful houses. Your tour guide will explain the significance of the brightly coloured houses in the Bo-Kaap. Please be sure to remain close to your tour guide at all times and keep your belongings with you.

3. Explore the top of Table Mountain. Your tour guide driver will escort you to the top of the mountain to give you a guided tour. Please take note that this attraction is weather dependent. Please note that Table Mountain cable car tickets are not included in our tour price. Clients are required to purchase their own Table Mountain tickets to prevent delays at the entrance.

4. A photo opportunity will be on the program along one of the most scenic drives in the world. We will stop at the viewpoint to take these spectacular photos.

5. Stop for a viewing of the African penguins. For many of our Guests, Boulders Beach also known as home to African Penguins, is the highlight of this tour. Therefore, we will allow you enough time to discover the main colony.

6. An optional stop will be on offer at Seaforth Restaurant for lunch with scenic ocean views. However, should you prefer a different restaurant please inform your tour guide in the morning so that he can plan around this. Reservations are recommended for restaurants.

7. We will drive straight to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where we will explore the Dias and Vasco Da Gama crosses. Remember to take your iconic photo behind the Cape of Good Hope name board.

8. From the Cape of Good Hope, we will drive to Cape Point, where we will have the option to either take an easy walk to the Cape Point Lighthouse or take the Flying Dutchman Funicular tram. Cape Point is also known as the meeting place of the Two Ocean Currents: Cold Benguela and the Warm Agulhas currents. Option to take the Funicular to the top of Cape Point lighthouse @R95,00 per person.

9. Our beautiful day comes to an end as we make our way back to Cape Town by means of the scenic Old Cape Road for drop-off at your accommodation.

• 5Great tour highlights in a day

  The full day covered all the highlights and tour guide, Nathan, was excellent and informative. Driver, Leon, was friendly and a safe driver. Definitely worth doing this to cover all in one day the highlights of the Cape Town area.

  Today I had a great tour. I liked all the places that we visited and the time allowed for each activity. Our guide Mireille and driver Tashreeq were friendly and helpful. The number of people in tour was great. Communication about tour was good. I recommend this tour.

• 5Best Day in Cape Town!

  This is a must-do trip! Mr. Mena was a fabulous guide - so friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the area and the people of Cape Town. First, we were driven through the neighborhoods of Cape Town with terrific photo opportunities in Bo-Kaap, a drive around the 12 Apostles with a coffee stop in Noordhoek, then off to see the African penguins (amazing) on the eastern cape followed by the Cape of Good Hope and a walk up to the Cape Point lighthouse. On the way back, we stopped for a delectable lunch and a gorgeous view at the Harbour House in Fish Hoek. We were also supposed to get up Table Mountain but it was too foggy so Mena advised us to hold onto our tickets until the following day which we did - it was beautiful and we're glad we waited. This tour is the one to pick - well-paced and all the top sights in one great day with a great guide!
