Formerly known largely for its Hardrock Gold Mining and Kauri, the Coromandel is now popular for tourism, especially ecotourism. This area is also home to various marine life, including dolphins, little blue penguins and fish (not guaranteed) Then take in the beautiful bush scenery on the 1-hour train ride at the Driving Creek Railway. Once at the top, you will be in awe of the panoramic views over the islands. Before you head back to Auckland, you will get the unique experience of digging your very own private natural spa pool at the famous Hot Water Beach. About Auckland

Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, spreads across an isthmus between two harbours, dotted with volcanic cones, beaches and island-studded bays.

The Sky Tower rises above the central city and the waterfront, where the Viaduct Harbour and Wynyard Quarter are lined with restaurants and yachts, fitting Auckland's nickname, the City of Sails. Mount Eden and One Tree Hill, two of the many volcanic cones scattered across the city, give panoramic views.

Top-ranked sights in Auckland: Auckland Harbour Bridge, Waiheke Island, North Head Historic Reserve (Maungauika).
