About Kelowna & Okanagan Valley
Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley, in the dry interior of British Columbia, combine a long lake, orchards, vineyards and warm summers.
Kelowna sits on the shore of Okanagan Lake, a long lake in the dry interior valley of southern British Columbia, with hills of sagebrush and pine on every side. The city has a lakefront with beaches and a waterfront park, an arts district and the historic Father Pandosy Mission, founded in 1859. Its name is said to come from a Syilx word for grizzly bear.
