Thought to be mad, King Ludwig II desired a fantasy castle built in the mountains, an obsessive feat that was still incomplete when he died. Visit the best vantage points for views and photo ops of the castle’s towers, interiors and surrounding scenery such as the lake, gorge and equally beautiful Hohenschwangau Castle.

5Most memorable tour
One of my most memorable tours in Munich! Jeff made it very interesting with the castle history and his sense of humor made me have my attention to 100%. I highly recommend this tour for its fun and history. I wouldn't have learned so much about the castle or had fun if it weren't for this tour. Thank you Jeff for making it memorable one!
5Fun and Easy!
A very lovely day! The bus ride in was very smooth and comfortable. Jeremy was friendly and well-informed and regaled us with funny little historical anecdotes about the royals and the castle. The castle is beautiful. Definitely pay the extra 24 euros to take the interior castle tour. It’s wonderfully kooky inside! And definitely take the shuttle up the hill to the castle. (You will need cash.) The whole experience was very relaxed. We had plenty of time to eat and poke around in the shops before the main castle tour. This was the last day of my trip and it ended on a very high note!
5Enjoyable tour
Fantastic day, our guide Thomas was so knowledgeable and loved the castle, his passion for Ludwig and Wagner was brilliant. The history of the castle and the inside of the castle is incredible. Shame you can’t take photos of inside.

Amazing day. Charlie was very informative and gave amazing information. He allowed questions and made sure everyone was where they needed to be. Castle tour seemed a bit rushed but was great.
5Thomas made this a fantastic and unforgatable expediente for my kid. Nicely organized and well illustrared.
Would defenitely book again in a future tríp. This was well organized with more information from the bus Guide Than from those in-house castle guiles.

His humour and engaging storytelling brought the region’s history to life, while his helpful and approachable nature ensured everyone felt comfortable throughout the day. He made our visit even more memorable, and we highly recommend him! 10 out of 10!
