行程

  1. We depart from our office at either 8.30 or 12.30 (dependent on your preference) And head to Pick Noi which is only around 30 minutes away. Upon arrival our guide will give you a short safety briefing and introduction to kayaking before heading off down the river. As we continue onwards we reach a small section of light but fun rapids before arriving at the tomb of the 19th century French explorer ‘Henri Mouhot’ who was the first European to discover Luang Prabang! Here we of course take some time to look around this fascinating site before continuing onwards to Ban Had Hien, a small village famous for its iron knife* making. From here, we return to Luang Prabang. *Please understand that villagers are not making iron knifes every day.

About Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang is a small royal town in northern Laos on the Mekong, with gilded temples, French colonial houses, morning alms-giving and nearby waterfalls.

Luang Prabang sits on a peninsula where the Nam Khan river joins the Mekong, ringed by green mountains. It was the royal capital of the Lao kingdom until 1975, and its whole old centre is a World Heritage site, a mix of Lao temples and French colonial shophouses. Wat Xieng Thong, built in the 16th century, has sweeping roofs and glass mosaics, and the former Royal Palace now serves as the national museum.

Top-ranked sights in Luang Prabang: Kuang Si Falls (Tat Kuang Si), Pak Ou Caves, Whisky Village (Ban Xang Hai).
