5Take this tour
Ebbi was knowledgeable and humorous and great at communicating about the history of the island as its native son. He started the tour off by pulling out a rescued baby puffin and amazingly, it got better from there with seeing gorgeous views, learning of the island’s history, and of course, the highlight of seeing the puffins.
5Terrific Tour
Ebbi really made the Island come alive. His knowledge of the history of Heimaey and his description of life on the island along with his great sense of humor made this trip unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour!

5Fun tour with Ebbi.
Group of 15 Icelanders came and EBBI took us on a tour. Totally recommend him. He is full of facts and information. He´s a fun and full of life. Recommend taking a tour with him.

Ebbi was a fantastic guide! We came on a rainy day in early April so it ended up being a private tour. I had no idea Ebbi would be such a true local- his family goes back to 1170! Highly recommend any tour with Ebbi!

We booked the tour last minute on arrival to the island.So glad we did, Ebbi was amazing with local knowledge and jokes in between. Saw some unbelievable sites and information from Ebbi was very interesting to know whilst there admiring the views.He also took pics of us with our phones.Would highly recommend this tour first class!

About Heimaey
Heimaey is the only inhabited island of Iceland's Westman Islands, a volcanic outcrop of puffin cliffs and lava, with a harbour town rebuilt after 1973.
Heimaey, the largest of the Westman Islands off Iceland's south coast, lies about 10 km from the mainland and holds a fishing town of more than four thousand people. In January 1973 an eruption split the ground beside the town, burying houses under ash and lava, and the islanders were evacuated almost overnight, mostly by fishing boat. The new volcano, Eldfell, now rises behind the harbour and can be climbed, and the Eldheimar museum shows a house dug out of the ash.
