行程
Devils Tower is located in Wyoming. The Tower is a solitary, stump-shaped granite formation that looms above the tree-lined Belle Fourche River Valley. Once hidden below the earth’s surface, erosion has stripped away the softer rock layers revealing the Tower. The two-square-mile park surrounding the tower was proclaimed the nation’s first national monument by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906. The park is covered with pine forests, woodlands, and grasslands. While visiting the park you are bound to see deer, prairie dogs, and other wildlife. The mountain’s markings are the basis for Native American legend. One legend has it that a giant bear clawed the grooves into the mountainside while chasing several young Indian maidens. Known by several northern plains tribes as Bears Lodge, it is a sacred site of worship for many American Indians. Devils Tower is also remembered for “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” We are here two hours so you may walk the Tower Trail if you like.
Spearfish Canyon offers a trip through the culture, nature and history of the Black Hills. Abundant wildlife watching opportunities are found throughout the canyon. One of the best scenic byways in America. Older than the Grand Canyon it offers three waterfalls, 1,000 foot limestone/sandstone cliffs, four ecosystems and a flowing mountain stream. We stop at Roughlock Falls to walk the short trails and view the cascading falls. Great photo ops.
Cascading approximately 60 feet, Bridal Veil Falls is the most accessible waterfall in the canyon. The Falls flows intensely in the spring and slows considerably in late summer and fall. it is located adjacent to a large parking lot to accommodate sightseers. An observation platform has been installed to optimal viewing and photos.
*Please Note - This location road is closed in the winter because of snow. And instead of Picnic here we will lunch at Sundance WY. Roughlock Falls is widely praised for its beautiful scenery and is a popular spot for its easy-to-access waterfall and surrounding nature area. It has paved walkways, clear water with visible trout, and the unique cascading water over mossy rocks. It is considered the best of the Canyon's waterfalls. Here we will picnic (included) beside the stream and enjoy the beauty.
Original Old West History . . . 1876 Gold Rush . . . and final resting place of infamous Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane in Mt Moriah Cemetery. (tour stop) Today Deadwood looks much like it did in the 1880's. Cobblestone streets, brick and stone gambling casinos. You will have time to explore on your own many of the famous Saloons and closed 'Hospitality' houses' on Main Street.
If you wish, you will have time to watch the historically accurate reenactments of Deadwood’s unusual gunfights and unbelievable affrays with Deadwood Alive. Every two hours four gunfighters shoot out and sling guns along the Old Main Street. Three times a day, six days a week. These are both entertaining and historic reenactments.
We offer the option for a quick tour of the famous downtown Sturgis. Home to the worlds oldest and largest motorcycle rally. You have time for photos and quick stop to purchase a special t-shirt or hat.

About Rapid City
Rapid City is the gateway to South Dakota's Black Hills, close to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park and the Badlands.
Rapid City sits where the Black Hills meet the Great Plains in western South Dakota, on the banks of Rapid Creek. Life-size bronze statues of American presidents stand on the street corners of the downtown, and Dinosaur Park, a hilltop with concrete dinosaurs built in the 1930s, looks over the city. The Black Hills, called Paha Sapa by the Lakota, are sacred to them and rise as dark, pine-covered uplands.
