At an easygoing local venue, you’ll learn how simple ingredients can become a rich, aromatic meal packed with umami, crunch and a little chili-fueled attitude. Begin with a vegetable broth featuring miso, ginger, garlic and mushrooms, learning how to layer flavors and create a satisfying base. Then sharpen your knife skills while prepping mushrooms, cabbage, carrots and scallions. Build your bowl with ramen noodles and finish it with sprouts, mint, soy sauce, sesame oil and chili crisp, adding contrasting textures and flavors with every topping. About Sacramento

Sacramento is California's capital, a river city where the Sacramento and American Rivers meet, with Gold Rush history and a farm-fresh food scene.

Sacramento grew up during the California Gold Rush, at the meeting of the Sacramento and American Rivers. Old Sacramento keeps wooden boardwalks and brick buildings of the 1850s beside the river, and the California State Railroad Museum shows steam locomotives. The domed State Capitol stands in a park of trees from around the world, and Sutter's Fort, an adobe fort of the 1840s, recalls the settlement that preceded the Gold Rush.

Top-ranked sights in Sacramento: Old Sacramento, California State Capitol and Museum.
