After the tour, enjoy free time to stay longer in the Palace or visit the gardens (an additional ticket is required from April to October for the Musical and Fountain Show season. 5Tour depends on great guide, Lucy is one of the best
Great guide gave us a great tour and was very knowledgeable. We generally like to do a small group but Lucy made sure we were all able to see and hear her clearly. Probably the best vox that we’ve used
5A Tour Guide is Needed for This Place!!
Had a fantastic tour. Our guide was brilliant and certainly knew her stuff. Would 100% recommend these guys
5Glitz, glamour, and gilt! Must do to skip the line!
History and opulence drew us in, but our guide Vladina truly brought Versailles to life! Learning about the everyday life of royals and the court, the impressive artworks, and the “PR campaign” of art was a highlight of our trip. Highly recommend!
5Does not include gardens
The tour guide was good. This tour did not include the gardens which was not clear. We did purchase tickets to the gardens on our own.
2Disappointed
Luce’s tour should be titled an in-depth study. Luce approached the tour as an in depth history study. We would be in a room 15-20 minutes while 4-6 guides gave their overview and moved on. She lost the interest very soon. Rather than giving the significance of the room, she went very in-depth. In one I counted she was lecturing to 5 while other 12-15 walked around the room. Other tour went to 10 perhaps 12 more room. We use Viator. This is the first time we have been so disappointed.
2This tour had too much...
This tour had too much narrative specially if you’re not into history. Would have loved to see more of the palace and surroundings than hear all the details the guide described.
Versailles, west of Paris, is the town built around the palace of Louis XIV, with its Hall of Mirrors and formal gardens.
The Palace of Versailles began as a hunting lodge of Louis XIII, and Louis XIV turned it into the seat of royal power, moving the court here in 1682. Its centrepiece is the Hall of Mirrors, seventy-three metres long, with seventeen mirrored arches facing the garden windows, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed in June 1919. The royal apartments, the Opera and the Chapel complete the palace.
Top-ranked sights in Versailles: Versailles Gardens (Jardins de Versailles), Hall of Mirrors (Galerie des Glaces), Grand Trianon.
