You’ve heard of it, but what exactly is the Magna Carta? It was at Runnymede, in these expansive Thames-side meadows, that King John sealed the document in 1215. It reshaped the relationship between rulers and the ruled forever. On this self-guided walking tour, you’ll discover how this became the birthplace of constitutional government. I’ll also point out several thoughtfully placed symbols of remembrance, which continue to inspire worldwide struggles for justice. The tour starts next to the Queen Elizabeth II statue that honours Britain’s longest-serving monarch. You’ll follow the humming Thames Path, where boats glide and wildlife graze along the banks. As you pass Ankerwyke, I’ll tell you about Bronze Age settlements and King Henry VIII’s popular dating haunt. The tour ends at The Jurors, twelve empty chairs that invite you to sit and engage with this living tribute to democracy.
You’ll pass by the Magna Carta Memorial, which commemorates the historic signing of the Magna Carta in 1215. Please note that any costs related to visiting the area are not covered in this tour.
You’ll pass by the John F. Kennedy Memorial, a tranquil site honouring the late U.S. President’s legacy. Please note that any costs related to visiting the area are not covered in this tour.
You'll pass the Magna Carta Tea Room nearby, a popular stop for refreshments. However, any purchases made there are not included in this tour.
You’ll pass by Writ in Water, an architectural installation inspired by the Magna Carta and the principles of justice it represents. Please note that any costs related to visiting the area are not covered in this tour.
You’ll pass by The Jurors, a thought-provoking public artwork that reflects on justice and human rights. Please note that any costs related to visiting the area are not covered in this tour.

London blander kongelige seremonier, museer i verdensklasse og landemerker ved elven med særpregede bydeler, markeder og parker å utforske til fots.
Themsen binder byen sammen.
Top-ranked sights in London: St. Paul's Cathedral, Stonehenge, Tower of London.
