Huatulco is a planned resort on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, developed from the 1980s along a series of nine bays with sheltered beaches and clear water. Santa Cruz Bay, the main one, has a marina, a small waterfront of restaurants and a pier where cruise ships dock, while Tangolunda Bay is the resort and golf area.
