Very loose, broken cobblestones making for treacherous walking. Also, don't expect a bathroom break. Otherwise, knowledgeable guide with lots of insight.
5Excellent
Excellent. The English guide Alex was very knowledgeable. Old town Plovdiv is crammed with attractions in a small area.
5Excellent Plovdiv Tour– Highly Recommended!
We had a fantastic time on our Plovdiv tour and felt it offered excellent value for money. The quality of the tour exceeded our expectations, with a great balance of history, culture and sightseeing. A special thank you to our guide Martin, who was friendly, knowledgeable and very approachable throughout the day. He shared fascinating insights about Plovdiv and was always happy to answer questions, making the experience both informative and enjoyable. We are very happy with the tour and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Bulgaria. Jari
5Great value for money!
It was a very well organized day trip from Sofia. Our guide (a history teacher) Aleksander was great. He really has a great knowledge about history and story telling skills (also nice sense of humor). The communication day before the trip was also nice. They explain where and how to meet. If I had more time in Bulgaria, I would definitely try to book sth with the same company and the same guide.
5Great trip to Plovdiv
A positive experience, it's a beautiful city although quite difficult to walk around the centre due to the large cobbled stones and hilly terrain. The guide was good although not as passionate as Eva, the guide who was on our trip to Rila monastery who was fantastic. The driver was good and the punctuality and organization too.
5Brilliant experience
We booked this trip as we thought it looked interesting, and I'm pleased to say that it delivered on all levels. Our guide Martin was fantastic and shared a lot of knowledge with us, as he led us around the city. We found the whole experience fascinating, and would definitely recommend it as a must do excursion.
Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, lies below Vitosha mountain, mixing Roman ruins, golden-domed churches, mineral springs and a busy café culture.
Sofia sits in a high basin at the foot of Mount Vitosha, and its centre layers Roman Serdica, Orthodox Bulgaria and the Ottoman and Soviet eras. The gold-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, completed in the early twentieth century, is the city's best-known building. Close by are the fourth-century rotunda of St George, the Banya Bashi Mosque and the remains of Roman streets that show through glass in the metro stations.
Top-ranked sights in Sofia: Rila Monastery, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Ivan Vazov National Theatre.
