We had an amazing private guide with Elder!! He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions about Machu Picchu. I greatly enjoyed how in-depth he went with the history of the Incas. About Sacred Valley

The Sacred Valley is the Urubamba River valley in the Peruvian Andes, a fertile corridor of Inca terraces, fortress towns and markets near Cusco.

The Sacred Valley follows the Urubamba River, also called the Vilcanota, through the Andes north-west of Cusco. It lies lower than the city, so the air is warmer and the land greener. The Incas farmed the valley intensively, and stone-walled terraces still climb its hillsides. Villages such as Pisac, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo lie along the river, with snow peaks above.
