5Long day but worth while
Great experience with Gilber, a long day and an early start but we got to see condors in their natural habitat. Breakfast was basic but welcomed with bread and scrambled eggs etc while the buffet lunch was really nice with a great variety. The coach was comfortable but you must wrap up as it gets cold in the early morning - layers are best so you can adjust as it warms up later. The thermal springs were fun too and well worth it. Its a tiring day but you can nap on the bus atvthe beginning and end.
5Unforgettable experience would highly recommend visiting!
This trip was well worth the early start. The views were stunning and the tour guide was great at explaining the local culture of the area. Great value for money and would recommend to anyone.
5Beautiful area to visit, but if you need English, make sure you are getting an English tour!
The canyon was beautiful!! The group seemed very disorganized. The restaurant we went to for both breakfast and lunch was disappointing. Cold food at breakast and very limited “options”. The tour was in Spanish and English, but seemed like the Spanish explanations were much more thorough. The stop at the hot springs was time that could have been better spent at the canyon. Overall, a long day, the sights were amazing, but we were always wondering what was going on.
5Fantastic
The overall tour was very interesting and definitely value-for-money. We got to see many sites. Mario was fantastic! As the only non-spanish speaker in our group, he personally translated what he had said to everyone else to me afterwards, so I understood the information. I would recommend to anyone!
4Long day but awe inspiring visit
Firstly this is an epic day. The Colca canyon is awe inspiring and the opportunity to see the majestic condors in their natural habitat is a privilege. Getting there is an absolute mission. It’s a lot of driving for a day but manageable and the driver got us there and back. The guide was ok although didn’t seem clear on whether lunch was including or not. When I showed my email this was all sorted. The buffet was very good with tasty and well cooked food. The visit to the thermal baths was ok although I believe there are bigger and better baths available than the ones we went too. My only real criticism was the lack of communication beforehand with no confirmation of pick up time (all other tours have done this). This would have been helpful due the early start. All in all, a good day.
1Not Worth It - Disappointing Tourist Trap!!!!!
Unfortunately, this tour was a major disappointment. The scenery at the condor viewpoint was incredible, but nearly every other aspect of the experience fell far below what was advertised. 1. Lack of Communication & Poor Tour Management Communication before and during the tour was extremely poor. The company specifically instructed us to remain in our hotel lobby for pickup, yet after our scheduled pickup time passed, I messaged them through the app. They didn't respond for over 20 minutes, only to ask why we weren't waiting in the main square instead. Their own instructions directly contradicted what actually happened. Once we found the one of the many tour buses in the main square, the driver spoke no English and the tour guide wasn't even on the bus yet. We then made multiple personal stops while the guide picked up his own snacks and drinks before the tour even really began. Although this was advertised as a bilingual (Spanish and English) guided tour, the guide spoke almost exclusively in Spanish and rarely addressed the English-speaking guests. Even worse, there was very little actual guiding. At nearly every stop, the guide disappeared with the van instead of staying with the group to explain the sites or answer questions. The guide also insisted on using a broken speaker system inside the van. Multiple passengers asked him to stop because it made him impossible to understand, but he continued using it anyway. Organization throughout the day was poor. At more than one stop, the guide attempted to leave without everyone, and passengers had to point out that people were still missing before we went back to pick them up. Finally, the tour advertised that pickup and drop-off would be at the same location. Instead, everyone was dropped several blocks from the main plaza at the bottom of a steep hill. While this wasn't a major issue for us, it was clearly difficult for several older members of the group. 2. Transportation The transportation was far from comfortable despite being advertised as such. Anyone over about 5'7" should be aware that legroom is extremely limited. My husband and I both finished the day with bruised knees, shins and ankles from being pressed against the seats in front of us. The van did have air conditioning, but despite repeated requests from most of the group, the guide refused to turn it on even though the vehicle became very hot throughout the day. 3. The Stops & Attractions The highlight of the trip was definitely the condor viewpoint. The valley was beautiful, and we were fortunate enough to see several condors. Unfortunately, nearly every other stop felt like a tourist trap designed to encourage shopping rather than sightseeing. The hot springs were especially disappointing. They looked nothing like the photos used to advertise the tour. The water was an unappealing algae-green color, and we chose not to go in. Several people who did try them returned after less than 10 minutes commenting on how dirty and unpleasant they were. Because so much time was spent at shopping stops, the tour completely skipped the wetlands and reserve as sightseeing destinations. We only stopped there briefly to use the restroom before moving on. 4. The Food Breakfast and lunch were served at the same restaurant. The dining area had no heating or air conditioning, with the doors left open throughout the meals. During breakfast, the temperature was around 35°F (2°C), so be prepared with warm clothing if you're traveling during colder months. Breakfast was very basic: a bread roll, a small slice of avocado, cold eggs, and hot water for tea or instant coffee. Lunch was considerably better, offering a decent variety of food. However, beverages were not included and had to be purchased separately. Overall The condor viewpoint was the only part of the day that met our expectations. Unfortunately, poor communication, disorganization, uncomfortable transportation, misleading descriptions, and multiple unnecessary shopping stops made this one of the most disappointing tours we've taken. I would recommend looking for a different company if you want to experience the Colca Canyon area. Trip tip: Bring some toilet paper, as most places ran out.

About Arequipa
Arequipa, in southern Peru, is a white-stone colonial city beneath the cone of El Misti volcano, close to the deep Colca Canyon.
Arequipa lies at about 2,300 metres in the dry southern Andes, with the cone of El Misti volcano rising above it and Chachani and Pichu Pichu on either side. Its centre is built from sillar, a light volcanic stone that has earned it the name of the White City. The Plaza de Armas has arcades, palms and the cathedral, whose façade stretches the full length of one side.
