Along the way, enjoy breathtaking scenery and spot other wildlife and birds.
Begin your unforgettable journey with an early morning pickup at 3:00 AM from your hotel in Kigali. Set out on a scenic three-hour drive northwest to reach Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable National Park, enjoying the rolling hills and picturesque landscapes along the way.
Before the trek, stop for a delicious breakfast at a nearby hotel, featuring freshly baked breads, pastries, and a variety of hot and cold dishes. Continue with a brief stop at the Rwanda-Uganda border to clear customs before heading to the park headquarters, where you’ll meet your experienced guides and receive a briefing on the trek.
Venture into the misty mountain forest on an extraordinary trek in search of mountain gorillas. The hike can last up to three hours or more, navigating steep, high-altitude terrain on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains. Once the gorillas are located, enjoy a full hour observing these rare primates up close, sometimes just meters away a truly once in a lifetime experience with one of the world’s most endangered species.

Kigali is Rwanda's capital, a tidy city on green hills in the middle of the country, with memorials, craft markets and routes to gorilla country.
Kigali spreads across several hills in the heart of Rwanda, at about 1,500 metres, so the air is mild all year. The Kigali Genocide Memorial tells the story of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi and honours those buried there. The Kandt House Museum holds natural history displays in the house of the German colonial resident Richard Kandt, and the Inema Arts Centre shows contemporary Rwandan art.
Top-ranked sights in Kigali: Kigali Genocide Memorial, Volcanoes National Park.
