4Historical tour
Unfortunately, we couldn’t go to the distillery as we had a child, but we did do the 45 min historic tour. This was enjoyable in understanding the history of the brewery and Hobart.
5This was a really cool...
This was a really cool tour. Our tour guide was great. Very informative. It was great to learn about the brewery and the taste testing of the beers was great. I love beer so right up my alley. The cascade pub there is awesome to sit back and enjoy a feed. The gardens are amazing. Well worth it when in Hobart.
4Cascade tour
Great tour. Several stairs but you can take your time excellent guide. Great samples at the bar afterwards
5Interesting tour with loads of history on Cascade and how beer is made.
Interesting facts on history and beer making. The beer garden afterwards was a real treat. Great food and atmosphere
5Great pairing - local history and excellent beer
The day could not have been wetter, but we were warm and dry in the cozy Cascade Brewery museum until the tour started. It was serious business as we got our safety briefing and donned hard hats and safety goggles before crossing the road to the Brewery. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. We had no trouble hearing her despite the rain and some machine noise. The brewing process and terminology were explained clearly. We got to handle, smell and taste the barley, wort and hops. The approximately two centuries of the facility were recounted. At the conclusion of the tour we were treated to a flight of four Cascade brews. Thoroughly enjoyable.
4Interesting history of Hobart
Very easy paced and informative tour of the facilities - which was made easier by doing it on the weekend when the operations were shut down. The pub facilities across the road are worth a visit with or without the tour. Great outdoor space, good meals at a reasonable price and a very good atmosphere. Take the hop on hop off bus and have an enjoyable day.
Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, is a harbour city of sandstone warehouses and colonial cottages beneath the slopes of Mount Wellington.
Hobart sits where the Derwent River widens into a deep harbour, with Mount Wellington rising behind it to more than 1,200 metres, often dusted with snow in winter. Founded in 1804, it is the second-oldest of Australia's capital cities. The sandstone warehouses of Salamanca Place, the cottages of Battery Point and the yachts moored at Constitution Dock give the waterfront its character.
Top-ranked sights in Hobart: Bruny Island, Richmond Village, Mt. Wellington (Kunanyi).
