The 1692 Salem Historical Day Tour will meet at the Hermetic Arts Center at 272 Essex St. Your Guide will check you in, and the tour will start at the corner of Essex and Sewell St. From there, you will continue down Essex St. to the Witch House. As you walk through Salem to visit each historical site, you will hear a jaw-dropping story covering Salem's history before the trials, what caused the witch hysteria, who were the Judges and Accusers, how residents responded to the accusations, who were the 20 victims, and how the trials came to an end. Salem is a seaport on the north shore of Massachusetts, about twenty-five kilometres north-east of Boston. In 1692 it became infamous for the witch trials, in which twenty people were executed after accusations of witchcraft, and the Witch House, the home of a judge, and the Witch Trials Memorial recall the events. The Witch Museum and the Peabody Essex Museum are among its main museums.
